IN 2008, I decided to start a small business as a media consultant because I wanted to embark into writing more books.
So far, I have been able to author over 17 books for both the commercial sector as well as friends who commissioned me to write their books.
I believe God has given me the gift as a writer and I believe I have at least another ten productive years aghead.
Over the past 30 years, since I started writing for New Straits Times and Malay Mail, I realise that God was putting me through the school of journalism.
There are so many other books which are relevant to the local context that I would like to write and publish, but due to a lack of budget, this has not been possible.
For example, there are many local issues in the churches that need to be addressed, and I am willing to work on them if there are business enterpreneurs willing to commission me to write these books.
Family Commitments
This is because when God gave me the passion to write, I also have to take care of my bread and butter as I have two growing up teenagers who will be entering university soon. I need to make sure that we have enough to provide for their education.
If there are Christian businessmen who are willing to partner and commission me to write books full time, or provide me the opportunities to serve on a retainer basis as a media or marketing consultant, I would be able to spend more time focusing on writing more books.
You feel something needs to be done to reach out the unsaved, but you do not have the gift of communication, or the time to write, perhaps, you can commission me to write for you.
One book which I am currently planning to work on is a compilation of local testimonies by people of different age groups. This is commissioned by an ordinary sister-in-Christ who is willing to fund the project so that I can complete it. The book will be available free via PDF so that it can be viralled around.
Let me know if you are interested to work on any worthwhile projects and I would be more than happy to work on them.
