OC Yeoh, a Singaporean with Malaysian permanent residency, has a wide network on both sides of the Causeway. Yeoh majored in political science, specialising in diplomacy and international relations, at US and UK universities. He began working life as a policy officer in Singapore's civil service.

After marrying a Malaysian, he embarked on his journalism career in Kuala Lumpur. From 1996 to 2001, he was a reporter for the Malay Mail covering mainly business and education. From 2001 to 2006, he was a sub-editor with Sunday Mail and also contributed articles to both Sunday Mail and New Straits Times.
In 2006, he moved to NST Online and was a facilitator for the website. In 2011, he returned to NST print as a sub-editor for the city desk. In 2014, he joined the paper's education desk as a writer. In 2017, he left the NST to a become a freelance journalist shuttling between Malaysia and Singapore.
