Ng Mun Hong holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Malaya (1990).
Despite his academic background in engineering, he developed a strong passion for literary work and has been a successful freelance translator since March 2005.
He further enhanced his expertise by attending a Chinese-to-Bahasa Malaysia translation workshop jointly conducted by the Malaysian National Institute of Translation (ITNM) and PERSPEKTIF from December 2011 to January 2012. This training significantly strengthened his proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia translation.
Over the years, he has undertaken a wide range of translation projects, covering English–Chinese and English–Bahasa Malaysia language pairs, as well as translations in the reverse directions.
