Belle Chok

Belle Chok was eleven when she was diagnosed with a chronic autoimmune disease known as Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

What made it worse for her is the fact that she is also stateless. This means that her father, a plumbing contractor, has to pay for her medical fees and all the medications that she consumes, amounting to about RM60 a day.

Her plight has been given wide coverage in the media. Some of the articles are provided here.

Recently, with the help of her aunt, she started doing artwork which is sold at RM380 a piece. The money is to help her raise her own fund for her medical treatment.
